The Cats: Bix, Bhumi, and Lola

I currently have three cats, two fat boys and one small, feisty girl. All of them are rescues.

Bix is a black and gold tabby, probably born in 2000. He may have been about a year old when I adopted him. He came from a feral cat colony. Bix likes to sit on my lap in the evenings and often sleeps on the bed at night.

Bhumi (pronounced "boomey") is named after the king of Thailand. His strange markings are the result of his calico mother and a presumed blue-eyed, chocolate seal-point Siamese father. Bhumi was born in the summer of 2002. My vet took in Bhumi's pregnant mother, and placed her and all the kits in good homes. Bhumi loves to have his belly rubbed, and usually cons me into every night before bed. Who could resist that soft, fuzzy white belly?

Lola, the smallest but not the least, is a ginger-marked tabby. She was born in the spring of 2005. My vet removed her right eye when she was only 6 weeks old because it was so badly infected. You'd never know that she only has one eye from the way she rules the household. Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets. Lola is not much on being held, but she does like to sleep on the bed next to the dogs.
