1) The human condition is an important part of everyones lives. It is the things we all have in common as we go through life. M. Scott Pecks theory about developing maps of the world to live our lives by is an example of the human condition. We all have to develop a way to live life seeing everything how it really is or well trick ourselves. Everyone suffers through the same things, like seeking diversions from the foreboding end of our lives, or neediness, or pain. No one is exempt from these sufferings because we are human. We are similar even to our greatest enemies as Marcus Aurelius points out. We are all faced with how to overcome these hardships.
2)
A) I really want to remember M. Scott Pecks idea of a map for the world. This idea that we make an image of the world in our minds and force ourselves to see the world in that way as a map is fascinating and makes sense. To see the world clearly we need constant vigilance because the world is constantly changing and so are we. Thinking about how world leaders have developed their maps is interesting as Mr. Peck said. Its weird to think how our lives are affected by the maps theyve made.
B) The movie What the Bleep Do We Know!? shows a bunch of very interesting ideas that I am still processing because theyre so hard to think about. Is our mind really more powerful than any force on this earth? It is fun to think that we can lift something or change something by thinking about it hard enough, but it is hard to ever know if it will really happen because no matter how hard we try, there is always a doubt in our mind that it wont work. Until that doubt is gone we can never truly see if our mind is that powerful.
C) Thomas Jeffersons letter to Peter Carr is an interesting thing to read. You get a good sense of morals from our founding fathers by reading this. He believes that anything is worse than doing something immoral or dishonest. He wants to pass on to his nephew the belief that practicing moral and honest things is like an exercise for a limb. I think this is a true statement based off of other things from this section. M. Scott Peck says that a constant search for truth becomes easier after a while. I hope that it does become easy.

4) A great question to ask myself is am I changing my map enough to truly suit the world that I live in so that I can clearly see reality? Am I devoted to seeing the truth?
5) To be a better person I should think through what is presented
to me so I can see what it really is in reality like Mr. Peck suggests. When I
am shown what is happening in the world I can look for multiple ways to view it
rather than how it is presented. The teaching about the human condition has
shown me that I have more in common with people then I thought. I thought I was
different because I often see the worst in things, but others do too.
