The Human Jesus

Jesus was an unprecedented challenging individual during his brief public life, but appeals to us because of his humanity. Jesus challenged the social structure and system of ways in his time period. This is what we see every great hero in our movies today do. What makes people special is when they stand up for something they think is right when no one else will; they are willing to defy everyone for their beliefs. This is what Jesus did. He faced opposition, but He stuck with his path because He knew it was the best thing.
His counter cultural teachings are what made him so popular. He gave everyone the hope that they could be forgiven. All of the Jewish people at this time period were under the impression that God was violent, and full of rage. The last time God had been active in their lives was a time when he struck down the sinful. Yet here God returns to speak with the sinners and tell the poor they will be the greatest in His kingdom. Changing a system of beliefs isnt easy, but Jesus had the courage to do it.
Jesus also spoke, and appealed to the common people. He didnt consider himself above them like the Pharisees. He spoke in a way that allowed all who wanted to understand to understand. He recognized that those who needed the help most were those already struggling. His humbleness made Him a likeable human being, and allowed people to believe in him.
Jesus also went through troubles like everyone else. This allows us to relate with Him on a strong level. We can see how He went got through things and use this as an example for how we should get through the same things. The Jews News gives an example of His temptations similar to ours. We see temptations to believe in more touchable things than God in our society, and Jesus was too. Jesus also was tempted to prove Gods power and His ability, but He is humble, and rejects the chance to show off. The Jews News also provided examples of Jesus appeal to everyone (except those in a high position). It showed how happy some people were to have met Him.
 All in all,
what makes Jesus appeal to us is His human ability to cope with the kind of
troubles we always face, and His acceptance of everyone. He is the kind of
person everyone would want as a friend.
