Dark Beauty

Somewhere in my dreams I wake
I am lonely and I am dreaming
I find the magick within
And the moon calls to me in the night
How lonely would I be if there were others alive around me
The burial grounds call to me
And the ancestral dead find meaning in death
Their secrets are lost, buried with them
And they cannot speak
But I can hear their voices on the wind
And they are crying and weeping
How can I save them from death and find them rebirth?
How can I make the life they lost come back to them?
How can I find solace in this loneliness?
How can I find comfort among the dead?
How many times will we live and die?
How many times will people survive?
How many times will the strong survive?
How many times will I be kept awake by their screams of anguish?
How long will I live?
Why doesn’t anyone answer me?
Why are my questions left unanswered?
Why is the wind brushing away my tears like a soft caress?
Why is the wind speaking to me like a mother does to a daughter?
Why is the darkness so foreboding?
Where do I find the answers?
Why does the wind seem to whisper like voices of souls?
How can I find myself
How many times will I lose strength and fall to the ground?
How many times will I let myself stand and fight back?
How many times will the sun shine for me?
How many times will the night swallow me?
How many times will I find myself inside?
How many times will I lose faith?
How many times will I keep questioning things?
How many times will I hear these voices?
How many times will I find the answers I seek?
How many times will the night find me?
How many times will I run?
The hours pass by and I run from it still trying to reach day
But the night is ever coming up behind me
How many times?
How many times?
The voices that come on the wind caress my face again
They whisper of surrender
I don’t want to lose myself and give up
But the voices whisper of victory in surrender
And I let myself go
And let the forbidden night embrace me
