All Gods Are One God

All Gods Are One God

I say that all are calling on the same God...it is not good to feel that my religion is true and the other religions are false. All seek the same object. A mother prepares dishes to suit the stomachs of her children....God has made religions to suit different aspirants, times and countries. All doctrines are only so many paths. ~Ramakrishna

In relation to this I would agree that all gods are one god and all paths lead to the same god. There are many religions that bring comfort and happiness to humanity in much the same way that there are particular treatments for different diseases. Although we can find different ways to see different truths, there is a much greater cause for unity, and that is one that stems from the heart. Each religion in its own way works to lessen human suffering and to contribute to world civilization. Conversion is not my point. I dont think of converting people to Islam, but I try to think of how a Muslim humanitarian can contribute to human happiness.

While pointing out the fundamental similarities between world religions, I dont advocate a particular religion, nor do I seek a new world religion. I dont have time for that. Our human minds need different approaches to peace and happiness. We are human so we cannot be the same. Certain people find Hinduism more appealing, while others find Christianity more appealing. It is the reason of the teaching that they are drawn to something that works for them. We can make similar arguments for other religions as well. The point is clear: humanity needs all the worlds religions to suit their own ways of life, diverse spiritual needs, and the national traditions of individualism.

Its in this way that I welcome efforts being made in various parts of the world for better understanding among those of various religions. The need for it is particularly urgent. If all religions make their main concern to be the betterment of humanity, they can easily work together to reach anything, such as world peace. We must remember however, that this is one important step; there are no quick or easy solutions. We cant hide the doctrinal differences among our faiths, nor can we hope to replace existing religions with a new world belief. Each religion has its own very special contribution to make and each in its own way is suitable to a particular group of people as they understand it. The world needs them all, these many traditions and religions.

We practitioners of different faiths can only work together when we see different religions as tools to develop a good heart. Love and respect for others makes a true community. The most important thing is to look at the beliefs or the practices of a religion to lead to a better intellect and understanding of it. All religions of the world can contribute to the benefit of humanity if we put aside the subtle differences. <>1 Corinthians 8:5-6 (English-NIV) 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

It says this in the Holy Bible but it also says in Revelations 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End I interpret this to be that Christ or the Lord is a manifestation of everything. So all pantheons of old or new are the same because they have the same aspects. In Celtic religion their Triple Goddess is one because all her aspects (Maiden, Mother, and Crone) are of the same goddess. The pantheons of both Roman and Greek religions are the same. In Hindu religions, there are hundreds of gods and goddess but they all stem from one Creator. Both feminine and masculine haves of gods or goddesses make up the whole of the Spirit, God or Higher Power etc. People in a sense, created all of the Gods to help themselves understand the Divine and the Unexplainable. Different people in different places perceive god in different ways.

So in essence, all Gods are one God because God is made up of everything that is, was, and is to be. People need to have different ways to have God in their own lives, so the various religions that exist are a perfect way for this to happen, after all, all paths lead to one God. (Who can ever really know, anyway, which way is right? Lets just say that they all are.)
