80's New Wave

80'S NEW WAVE

I began my journey into the world of New Wave probably the first time i heard Duran Duran. I remember I lived in Northern Arizona at the time and was lucky enough to be able to tune in a radio station from LA. The song was Hungry Like the Wolf and i fell in love immediately. I later saw the video at a friends house on HBO's Video Jukebox. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! As my interest in music continued I found bands like Culture Club, The Cure, Depeche Mode and Ultravox (thank you Jeff Desrosier wherver you are:) ) I started dressing like Duran and sticking my hair up. My grandparents always hoped I would grow out of it especially the first time I dyed my hair black. Well, here I am in the year 2001 and im going to see Duran on Feb 27th, I still stick my hair up and I mainly listen to 80's or new songs by 80's artists. In my opinion grunge not only ruined the music scene but the fashion scene as well. With the return of the horrid 70's fashion that resembles some of the grody outfits my mom dressed me in as a child i am hoping that the return of 80's fashion is soon upon us. On Thursday Nights you will often find me at MPlayer (www.mplayer.com) enjoying the 80's tunes brought to the webwaves by the infamous Nuns On Crack. Like ohmigod!!!!!!!
