| About Me |
| Hello, for those who don't know me well, alot has changed since I first started this page. There's been alot of pain and alot of smiles. The good with the bad as they say I live in the Kingston, Ontario area and went to school in Napanee. .I work fulltime in retail and my kids keep me pretty busy. I have recently began my collection of ty beannie babies. I think they are soo adorable. I own the Halo beannies on my main page and Silver (the cat) on this page, as well as others on other pages here. In my spare time (LOL), I enjoy reading novels written by Danielle Steel, playing online games, chatting with friends on icq, and doing various crafts. is My son used to play hockey and is now busy with basketball and his youth groups and I make it to as many games and practices as possible. My daughter loves to dance and I am very proud of her and her brother.I have had alot of fun on the computer learning new things and meeting some interesting people. Most of my time online is spent visiting with my friends whom I have met through Fibromyalgia support and my local friends. It was about 3 and a half years ago that I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and a year later diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.(see link, What is Fibromyalgia) For 6 weeks my doctor thought maybe I had a flu bug in my muscles and thought eventually it would go away. I remember shopping on a Sat. with my best friend Wanda, when my upper legs started to hurt. I thought I must have been coming down with something.Within an hours time I found it difficult to walk out of the store.I tried that night and for days to ignore the pain but was so bewildered by it because other than it I seemed to be feeling fine. All my energy was spent on coping with the excruciating pain in my legs My doctor , after 6 weeks, told me that I had Polymyalgia Rheumatica and that it would eventually go away after a few weeks and to deal with it until then, medication would help. After a year or so when different prescriptions would not ease the pain my doctor suspected the Fibromyalgia and an appointment with a Rheumatologist confirmed it. I thought, how depressing, that this is something I will have forever and not alot is knownabout. What I didnt know was that so many others suffer like I do and there is relief. I have tried a variety of meds and am coping pretty well at the moment. I have my good days and bad, although the good ones are rare. It has been a thrill to meet others and trade our knowledge with this syndrome. Please take a moment and read my "What is Fibromyalgia Page". I am always looking for more links to Fibromyalgia, so if anyone has any to add to my links page please leave me a note in my guestbook or on icq, thanks. |
