Otherwise it is safe and effective.
CONSTITUENTS
linalol 40-45%, methyl chavicol 23.8%,
small amounts of eugenol, limonene, and citronellol
ACTIONS
antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic,
carminative, emmenagogue, expectorant,
febrifuge, galactogogue, nervine, tonic,
stomachic, stimulates adrenal cortex.
INDICATIONS
Insect bites, insect repellant, gout,
muscular aches and pains, rheumatism,
bronchitis, coughs, earache, sinusitis,
dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea,
menstrual cramps, scanty periods, colds,
fever, flu, anxiety, depression,
fatigue, insomnia, migraine,
nervous tension, nerve tonic
Powerful and pungent stimulating oil used
to relieve nervousness and fatigue.
Restorative qualities of basil oil
may help regulate menstruation PMS, try massaging
an oil containing basil in circles around tummy area.
May be helpful during menopause,
do as above or drop basil oil into bath.
Drop of basil oil diluted in 1 tablespon of carrier oil
gently rub into temples to soothe headache pain.
For bad breath add a drop of basil oil
into 1 cup water and use as mouth wash.
