CAUTION
Milkweed is poisonous in large quanities,
especially for children.
ACTIONS
Diuretic
Emetic
Purgative
Milkweed is useful for kidney problems, dropsy,
water retention, asthma, stomach ailments
and gall stones.
Some American Indians rubbed the juice on worts;
others drank it as an infusion of the rootstock
to produce temperary sterility.
INFUSION: For gallstones, mix equal parts
milkweed and althea (marshmallow).
Steep i teaspoon in 1 cup boiling water.
Take 3 cups over the course of a day,
