He is very clever. He went down with the troops yesterday, but did not land, came right back. My boil is not any better yet, but I think it will be in a day or two, and then I will go to my boys. I guess Silas B. will go tomorrow. I have no idea whether this is a permanent move or not. Some think they will be back; some think they will not. No telling. Tell Sarah I will send a few dollars to her by Copples if I see them again. I want you to let her have money to buy anything she wants, but I know you will do so without telling. Tell May and Brunton they are not forgotten and I will write as soon as possible. It hurts my neck so I can hardly write. Tell Rebecca to write. I will write to her tomorrow if possible. Tell Zetty I would like to send her something but there is nothing here. I could [have gone] to Cairo today, but I did not feel like it. I feel so much like a fool with my stiff neck, so I let Silas B. go on my pass. The mail has not come in yet. I hope I will get a letter. I will write tomorrow. Write and direct as before. It is just twelve o'clock. Be a good boy, Leander.

Your brother, William

The sun is shining and it is thawing fast.
