Mary Lynne ...

I met my husband Steve in November of 1991 while we were both performing in a community theatre production of Fiddler On The Roof. We were good friends for about 2 years, and then began dating. We shared a love for teaching, theatre, and eating! Steve was a 7th grade Math teacher at the school where I teach French and Spanish. I can still remember the excitement on the kids' faces when they found out that two of their teachers were going to be married! We were married on a beautiful July day in 1996. On Christmas day of that same year, Steve was killed in an automobile accident. We were on the way to visit my family in Buffalo, NY. My one consolation is knowing that Steve did not suffer. There was a good samaritan on the scene who later called me to let me know that Steve was gone by the time she got to the car. (I was unconscious at the time). It has been a rough 9 months--but I am blessed with a wonderful family and many good friends. I try to find something to be happy about every day. I now realize that we need to make the most of every single day we have.

Although everyone means well, I have received the most help just by reading all of the posts on widownet. It is such a comfort to know that I am not alone in my situation. I often marvel at where my life has taken me--but I know that I am not alone on this road. Thank you to all of the wonderful members in this special group!
