Honey Glazed Ham

5 pounds ham (in one piece, or sliced)
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
2 cups honey
2/3 cup butter

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Score the ham, and stud with the cloves. Place the ham in a foil-lined pan or roaster.
In the top half of a double boiler, heat the corn syrup, honey, and butter. Keep the glaze warm while baking the ham. Brush the glaze over the ham, and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or the appropriate time for your ham to reach 160 degrees internally. Baste the ham every 15 minutes with the glaze. During the last 4 to 5 minutes of baking, turn on the broiler to caramelize the glaze.
Remove from the oven, let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Notes:
This is what we had on Christmas day. mmmmmmm!
I heated the glaze in the microwave to mix it, and it was fine for the entire baking time
. My ham was 8 pounds (bone in), but there was plenty of glaze.
Opening the oven every 15 minutes for basting will add considerably to the baking time, even if you take the ham out and close the door while basting.
I skipped the caramelizing step (totally forgot about it!) but it turned out really delicious anyway!
