Tamahome seems to love nothing more than gold coins. That is, until Miaka Yuki turns his world upside down. When he first meets her, he sees her as a sister. A strange and accident prone sister, that needs his protection. As time wears on, he sees her in a romantic light. Tamahome comes from a large family and is consumed with finding ways to hep support them. His mother is dead and his father is ill. His lust for money is more than what it seems. He needs the cash to keep his family fed.

Miaka is the first girl to ever tell Tamahome she loves him. His reaction is less than what Miaka desires. When reality finally sets in, Tamahome returns Miaka's love. He vows to always love her, and be by her side no matter what. He risks his own life for her sake, and does so out of true love. His end goal in life is to marry Miaka, and raise a family with her. His special power is hand to hand, martial arts combat. His power is amplifed by his emotions.
