| Victorian Fan This is a fairly simple project. Materials needed are: 5 6 Popsicle/craft sticks Wallpaper or colored paper Lace (about 12 inches) white or off white looks best Ribbon to match lace Colored beads Flowers & leaves (I use rose buds) Glue gun & glue sticks Ribbon & pearls to compliment lace & flowers |

| You start with the sticks by placing them on your table one on top of the other spreading them into the fan shape | ||||||||||||||||||
| gluing ends in place | ||||||||||||||||||
| Next comes the wallpaper or other paper. (It is nice to find a color similar to the lace you will be using) Cut it to be about the same size as the fan. Once cut glue to the sticks with the decorative side facing the sticks. This will be the bottom of the fan and will show slightly through the lace, once finished. Now you are ready to apply the lace. As you will see in the photo the lace is gathered at the small end of the fan. Once folds are in place you may glue the lace to the sticks. The last step is the decorations. I use flowers and ribbon. First cut three matching ribbon strands at slightly different lengths. These will hold the beads. Knot one end, add beads then glue strands to fan. The rose buds, leaves, pearls, and colored ribbon are applied on top of where the strands of beads are attached. You may apply them anyway that looks good to you. You may wish to add a hook to the back of the fan for hanging, otherwise it is finished. |
