Here is a darling little "Soldier in Training..." I stitched for my son, Ned Bryan.
He graduated from basic training on 3/1/02 and today (3/16/02) we took him to Ft Campbell to report for his first "tour of duty".. Please keep him in your prayers. He is in the Infantry and as you all know, the soldiers being deployed to Afganistan are the Infantry Regiment from Ft. Campbell. I am so proud of him but also so scared for his safety.

I am so MAD I could spit Needles and Thread. While my son was in Iraq fighting for our country some creeps were supposed to store the boxes of things he had packed up in his barracks. Instead they tore them open and helped themselves to whatever they wanted, his medels he had earned in training and afterwards. All the patches on his Dress uniform, all of the personal things he had packed up, as well as this cross stitched piece I had so lovenly worked on. I am sick!
The National Guard came in when the ragular army deployed and was supposed to take the boxes to storage and then use the barracks, but from what was heard they were upset by being called up they took it out on whom ever they could.
I still have the pattern. Someday, I'll try to stitch tbis little fellow again.
