"What a long, strange trip it's
been....."-Jerry Garcia
A strange trip,
indeed. I was born in 1945 just prior to the end of
World War II. Since then, I have had the opportunity to witness many events, some very tragic and some awe inspiring. I lived in a time where close to a million people gathered together to celebrate peace, love and music....

To My Child, Not Even Yet Conceived
I
want for you so much
I
want for you to know
The very best in me
To
take from me my love
Given in full
generosity
To feel the fullness of that
love
And grow to be all you can be.
I
have known pain in my life
And I want yours to be
without
Such feelings of loneliness and
fear
Years of questioning and self-doubt
But my child I am imperfect
And I know that even
I
With all this self-awareness
Will still hurt
and make you cry.
I just want you to
know
As I think about you now
My soul is filled with tenderness
And I hope I can learn how
To
take you by the hand
And teach you as we
go
That life and love are joys and gifts
From
which we all can grow.
I've learned and am
still learning
To stop hiding from this love
I
want to share it with you
As I share
myself.
