On a brisk January evening, at a lovely bed and breakfast tucked into the woods next to a river, in front of a crackling fireplace, the groom waited, surrounded by family and friends. Soft piano music played "Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You" as the bride walked down the honey colored staircase to meet her groom. She walked on the arm of the englishman stepping lightly over the pink rose petals dropped by the sweetest flowergirl that has ever been. She met her groom with a smile and eyes bright with the tears of joy. The flowergirl saw the tears and jumped up from her seat with her grandmother. She went the bride and took hold of her gown with her little hand, the other clutched her satin basket. She asked the bride, "why are you crying?" The bride told her it was because she was so happy to be marrying her Daddy. This made her smile, but she refused to sit down so she stood with the bride and groom as they made their vows....
"We are gathered here, in the sight of God and in the presence of this company, to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony. We welcome you who have shared in, and been a part of the lives of Greg and Lisa to this important moment of commitment and union. As we share in their joy, let us be reminded again of the sacred responsibility of marriage. Marriage is the voluntary commitment of a man to a woman and a woman to a man to the exclusion of all others and is entered into with the desire, the hope, and the firm intention that it will last for life. I require and charge you Greg and you Lisa to remember that love and loyalty alone will stand as the foundation of a happy and enduring home. No other human ties are more tender, no other vows more sacred than those you are about to take. If these vows are kept, your life will be full of joy, and the home you are establishing will be a place of peace and happiness. Whether, then, the oncoming flood of years bring joy or sorrow, health or sickness, prosperity or adversity, sunshine or shadow, hopes fulfilled or dreams shattered, you are pledging today to be true to each other forever, finding in reciprocated love life's greatest treasure and God's generous gift." |

"Love is very patient, very kind. Love knows no jealousy; love makes no parade, gives itself no airs, is never rude never selfish, never irritated, never resentful; love is never glad when others do wrong, love is gladdened by goodness, always slow to expose, always eagar to believe the best, always hopeful, always patient. Love never disappears. Thus faith and hope and love last on, these three, but the greatest of these is love." |

"I Greg, affirm my love to you Lisa, as I invite you to share my life. I promise always to respect your needs. I will endeavor through kindness, unselfishness and trust, to achieve the warm rich life we now look forward to. To this end I call upon all present to witness, that I take you Lisa, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, to honor and to cherish, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep myself only unto you, for as long as we both shall live."
