| Steps for writing a Topic of the Week 1. Find an appropriate and current article (national or international politics, tied into the unit). 2. Read the article through once. 3. Read the article a second time and highlight or take notes. 4. Put the main points of the article in your own words. 5. Write the summary (review rubric for requirements). Remember these are the main points. 6. Write the opinion Don't forget to support your opinion with at least three good facts. 7. Proofread for spelling, grammar, and mechanics errors. 8. Make sure you have two (and only two) complete paragraphs written in your own words. 9. Staple the rubric, write up, and article all together in that order. Put your name on the front. 10. Submit on time. |
