Q. Do I need to own my own horse to be on the team?
A. No, The University that is putting on the show supplies the horses.

Q. Does it take up a lot of time?
A. No, the equestrian team does not take a lot of time. The shows only take up 4 weekends a year per discipline and you can schedule your lesson individually according to your own schedule. There is a minimum requirement for lesson. At least two (2) lessons must be taken per month during the off (non-showing) season, and at least three (3) lessons per month during show season, must be taken with the appropriate U.C.E.T. coach. Taking lessons weekly is strongly recommended. Also, since we cannot ride everyday as other teams can, we are required to workout and weight lift on a regular basis. UC has a gym that is free to students for more information visit UC Rec Center.

Q. Do I need to be a full-time student?
A. Any student may join the UC Equestrian Team. However IHSA requires that only full-time students may participate in the competitions.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. IHSA membership fee is $20.00 per discipline or $30.00 for both. U.C.E.T. has a requirement of $10.00 for non-competing members and $25.00 for competing members, per quarter.

Q. Where are the facilities located?
A. The stables were most of the private and/or group lessons take place is in Bethel, OH.

Q. Do I have to have any experience?
A. IHSA is set up so that riders of all levels can compete. Therefore no experience is necessary.
