The recently-dried,
leafy young twigs; and the chips and sawdust
from the wood and bark.

The twigs may produce abortion,
like those of savin, by reflex
action on the uterus from severe
gastrointestinal irritation.

Decoctions made of Yellow Cedar
have been used in treating
intermittent fevers, rheumatism,
dropsy, coughs, and scurvy.

The leaves, made into an ointment with fat,
are a helpful local application in rheumatism.
