Notes: From Connie’s point of view.

Quack, quack, quack. Quacky, quack quack quack. No, the word had lost all meaning.

Marriage and mass murdering. There was a fine line between those two things. Even if the argue between her and Fred wasn’t as serious as it might seem, the argument between her and Guy didn’t seem to be solved any time soon.

“This sucks,” Fred moaned next to her. They were in her room, doing the budget-report for the assignment. Even if she hated economy, this was the easiest thing they’d been setting about, when it came to the project, even if it was difficult as hell. That said a lot about the current situation between the players.

“I’m too tired to do this now. Wanna watch some TV?” she asked, dropping the book to the floor. Fred yawned, crawled up on her bed and stretched out.

“Bring me some snacks, Moreau. Your bed’s almost as comfortable as Cee’s. You know, in that alternative universe. In this ‘perfect-marriage’ universe, of course I wouldn’t know how comfortable Cecilia’s bed is.”

Connie smiled. “Yeah, I bet it is.”

“And it’s a lot bouncier,” Fred said, bouncing up and down on the mattress.

“Way too much information, Fred!” Connie objected. “Remember, I’m your wife now. I don’t need you mentioning your ‘other universe’ sex-life. I wouldn’t need that anyway, wife or not.”

“Sorry,” Fred grinned. “Since none of the guys are here, I have to brag about that to someone, right?”

“No, you don’t. Now, you wanna stop mentioning Cecilia’s name in every other sentence, or do I need to hit you with this rather heavy alarm clock? She doesn’t exist like that in this universe.”

“I’m confused. In which universe do I get an alarm clock in my head?”

Fred grabbed her pillow and put it behind his neck. “You should really have your TV on this side of the bed.”

“Why? It’s great to have it right in front of the bed. Why should I put it by the window?”

“Cecilia have it on that side of the bed,” Fred pointed out. Connie gave him an indulgent smile. He had been referring to Cecilia all day.

The two hadn’t really spoken to each other since last practice. Cecilia had pushed him down and left in a fit of rage, and Fred had moped around since then. That’d been yesterday.

“Well, maybe you should hang at her place instead, if that’s the greatest place on the earth. Or maybe it’s the company that you’d prefer?”

“No, just the thought of scoring makes it the happiest place on earth.”

“That’s so degrading. If Cecilia was here, you wouldn’t say that.”

“No, if she was here, my problem would be solved. It’s not degrading, it’s the truth.”

Connie shrugged. “Maybe to you, but I’m not gonna agree with you.”

Fred grabbed the remote control and turned on the TV.

“I’ll throw you out in a few minutes, Fred.”

“What’d I do now?” he asked sheepishly.

“I don’t want you in my room after curfew. I’ll get in trouble if they find you here.”

“Everyone knows that Cecilia’s my girlfriend, so they won’t care. Besides, I’m sure that Guy’s crashed here at least once, right?”

Connie felt her cheeks turn red. Damn him.

“Struck a nerve, huh?” Fred chuckled. He looked very entertained. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”

“About what? He just sleeps here. Nothing else.”

Fred nodded. “How ‘bout that snack now, wife?” Connie pretended to throw the clock at him, and Fred leaned to the side and rolled off the bed.

“How ‘bout showing me some respect? Don’t patronize and so on. You don’t wanna grow up to be a chauvinistic pig do you?” Connie asked.

“There’s too many letters in that word. I don’t comprehends words with more then eight letters in it.”

“There’s ten in ‘comprehends’,” Connie pointed out. Fred was quiet for a second, counting on his fingers.

“Yeah, whatever, Ms. Spelling-Genius.”

They both crawled onto the bed. After a while’s arguing over which program to watch, they both started to doze off.

Notes: From Fred’s point of view.

“Oh my God,” Connie shrieked. “What the hell are you doing here? What time is it? Oh my God, what time is it?”

Fred sat up straight, rubbed his eyes and looked confused. “Cecilia?”

“No, you idiot, it’s me!”

That sounded so familiar. Not the ‘idiot’ part, but the first thing Connie said. Had he heard that before, maybe...?

Anyway, nothing else about the situation was familiar. Not even the location. Where the hell was he anyway?

“It’s seven o’ clock,” he informed Connie, who bounced out of bed and pushed him off too.

“In the morning?” she asked.

“Uhm, yeah,” Fred answered, getting up from the floor. Now he remembered where he was. It wasn’t Cecilia’s room. It wasn’t Cecilia. It was Cecilia’s friend. And worst of all, it was Guy’s girlfriend.

“Oh man, this sucks,” he complained. Connie grabbed his arm.

“Out. Now,” she ordered.

Fred obeyed, while trying to locate where the door was.

“Fred? We’re not telling the others about this, right?”

“Cecilia?” he asked.

“Yeah, and Guy. Not right now, anyway. I don’t need more fighting.”

Fred agreed. He and Cecilia would probably be better off without a new subject to fight about. She would probably be mad if she found out about him sleeping in Connie’s room after that fight he’d been having with her.

He sneaked out into the hallway and stuck the key into the door to Cecilia’s room. It opened before he had un-locked.

“Where have you been?” Cecilia asked him. She was inches away from his face, so he did the only thing he could think of. He leaned forward and kissed her. She kissed back. That meant that she wasn’t too angry with him anymore.

“Glad to see you’re friends again.”

Fred tumbled away from Cecilia and turned to see who’d disturbed him. It was Adam. Fred looked at him with terrified eyes. Maybe he’d seen him leave Connie’s room?

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell on you,” Adam laughed. “Don’t look so scared.”

Fred blushed when he understood what Adam had meant. He probably thought that Cecilia had spent the night there, instead of staying at Charlie’s room. Cecilia pushed Adam into the wall.

“Why are you here?” she asked.

Adam rubbed his arm. “Being abused by you. I was looking for Fred.”

Fred gave him a nervous gaze. “Wha... what... what do you want?”

“What’s wrong with you?” Adam smiled. “Like I haven’t seen you kiss her before. That’s all you do, besides from fighting.”

Fred was about to answer with a bit more sanity when Connie came out into the hallway. She stopped dead and gasped. Fred closed his eyes and began searching for a way to escape from this awkward moment.

“It’s like a reunion,” Adam pointed out. Just as he’d said that, Guy came from nothing. Both Fred and Connie winced.

“Seriously, you need to stop being so nervous,” Adam told them.

Guy walked up to Connie. “I want to talk to you.”

“Now’s not the time,” Connie whispered back.

“Yes, it is.”

“Seriously, Guy!” Connie shouted.

“Fine, be that way,” he muttered. “You know, you can’t tell me I didn’t try this time.”

“Just leave,” Connie begged.

Fred sighed. Connie would never have done that if she wasn’t feeling frustrated about the situation. Fred was about to pass out himself too. Why was he so threatened by the situation? Cecilia would understand. Wouldn’t she?

“I can leave,” Adam offered. He probably got why Connie behaved like she did. She wasn’t too happy about having a conversation with Guy in front of them all. Fred felt stupid, just standing there staring at them. Of course she got nervous when they were all watching.

“Guy can leave,” Connie replied.

“Yes, Guy can leave,” Guy rolled his eyes. “Look, I’m leaving right now.”

Fred followed him and Adam back to their own hallway. This morning was way too strange for him.
