Notes: From Cecilia’s point of view.

“Nope, he won’t get the final word. I’m right, he’s wrong. Why can’t he see that too?”

Cecilia was sitting on Fred’s bed, trying to avoid listening to what Guy was saying. Charlie was sitting on his own bed, also looking uninterested.

Guy had tried his best to mediate between them, but it wasn’t so easy when neither of them wanted to admit that they were wrong.

“Get out.”

Fred had just walked through the door and was now standing at the doorstep, looking mad. “Now, get out now.”

Fred’s demand was addressed to Guy and Charlie. Cecilia began to think she was in big trouble. She was even more nervous now. What could she have done to make Fred mad at her? She hated when he was mad at her.

“Is everything alright?” Charlie asked. He sounded concerned, and Cecilia couldn’t help but feeling even more scared. What had she done?

Charlie exchanged a look with her; this one was without any anger. Cecilia wasn’t sure what to do, so she got up to leave too.

Fred grabbed her shirt. “Not you, Cecilia.”

“Crap.”

Guy and Charlie left. Now she was alone. She didn’t look him straight in the eyes.

“What do you know about this?” Fred handed her a brown envelope. She opened it and read the piece of paper. Her hands were shaking. Why was she so nervous? He would never hurt her, it didn’t matter what she did. But that old habit of expecting the worst just hung around anyway.

“What’s this?” she asked. She didn’t understand it at first. Why had he given her a note, regarding Miller Corporation?

Uh, oh.

Cecilia felt light-headed. How could she have been so stupid...?

“So, it’s true? Why didn’t you tell me?” Fred asked angrily. “I thought you said it was ‘nothing’. This is not ‘nothing’, Cecilia. You lied to me.”

Cecilia was close to tears. Her hands was shaking even more now, she almost couldn’t hold the paper. If she moved, she probably would’ve passed out.

“I’m sorry.” That was all she could come up with saying.

Fred ripped the letter away from her. He was furious, and she had never felt so helpless before.

“So, when were you going to tell me? About the whole thing? Never?”

“I don’t know, I was just... You don’t get it, Fred. It’s more then that,” she stuttered.

“You turned ME in to save yourself, isn’t that right? You could at least told me!” he screamed.

“Don’t scream at me, please,” she begged. She wished this day could just end.

Fred closed his eyes. “Do you know how much trouble I’m in? My scholarship could be re-drawn. I could be forced to go home.”

“I know, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for you to...” Whoops.

“To find out? Well, I did. You used my name, and thought I wouldn’t find out? You’re even more stupid then I imagined. I think you should leave now.”

“But...”

“Leave, Cecilia.”

“No!” she yelled. She had to tell him her version. She couldn’t just let him throw her out.

Notes: From Adam’s point of view.

There was a knock on the door. Or more like loud banging. Adam went over to open, and Cecilia came bursting in. She was crying, and she threw a brown letter at him.

“He knows!” she cried. Adam looked confused. What did he know, and who knew?

“Why are you crying?” he asked. “Have you been arguing with Charlie?”

Cecilia started to cry even more. “No, Fred found out about that I failed the test!”

Adam couldn’t be more confused by now. Test? What test? He went over to calm her down, but she pushed him away.

“Read it!” she sobbed, while walking over to his bed. While he was reading the letter, she crawled into his bed and wrapped the cover around herself.

Adam tried to figure out what was so upsetting with the letter, but couldn’t figure it out. Mostly because it was written in Swedish.

Why she’d come to him, he couldn’t understand. Usually, she went to Charlie or Fred when she was crying. He had never comforted her before, so he had no idea what to do now.

“Uhm, Cee? I’m not Swedish, could you please tell me why you’re crying?”

Cecilia sniffed a little from under the layers of covering. “He’s mad at me.”

“Who?”

“Fred,” she howled and sat up. “He knows that I failed the class.”

“What class?”

Cecilia looked at him in despair. “That test we had to take, so we could stay here in US. I told Fred that I passed it, but now he knows the truth.”

“What truth?”

“That I used his contacts at MC to... You know.” Cecilia closed her eyes and tried to calm down.

“No, I don’t. You have to tell me.”

“I had to pass the class, and Fred is so much better then me, when it comes to this, so I changed our tests.”

Adam sighed. What the hell was she talking about?

Cecilia put her head on his shoulder and continued crying.

“He’s out.”

“Who?” Adam was starting to feel a bit annoyed with her. Why couldn’t she just tell him what she was talking about?

“Fred. I tried to use Fred’s name on the certificate, you know, so I could pass, but Fred found out.”

“Huh?”

“I used Fred’s name, so I could write to Miller Corporation and ask for them to change the score, so he could pass the class too. Then I used Fred’s name to fill out the form, so no one would know that I was the one cheating. After I sent the inquiry, Miller Corporation sent a copy of the message to Fred.”

No, still not getting a thing.

“If I didn’t pass the class, I would’ve lost my scholarship, and Fred could’ve stayed anyway, since he have the money to pay for it anyway.”

“What?” Adam repeated once more. He was nearly about to shake the story out of her.

“I cheated and blamed Fred for it. He could get kicked out of the school now.”

Adam just gasped.

“I thought I could get away with it, when I forged his signature to ask MC for an extended test-time. So I could take the test again, and this time put Fred’s name on it. Fred found out today, what was going on. I cheated, Adam. And now Fred gets on academic probation again.”

Notes: From Charlie’s point of view.

This was bad. Fred and Cecilia were broken up; after Fred had found out she’d been lying to him.

Adam had told him about what Cecilia had said. Charlie already knew half of the story. Adam didn’t seem to know anything.

Cecilia had already told Fred about how she cheated on the test, but Fred was still not forgiving her.

Cecilia was devastated. She and Fred had argued about it the whole weekend, and now they were officially broken up.

Why Fred had been so angry with her was hard to tell. He had just been furious at the fact that she had been lying to her. He didn’t even want to hear her explanation; he didn’t even care about what she had been going through.

Charlie figured that he was mad, because he’d gotten his academically probation back. He’d been working hard to get rid of it, and now it was back. Fred also got called to the principal, to explain himself, and his dad had also found out, and blamed him for this whole mess.

No wonder Fred was so mad.

Cecilia was mad too. Fred was accusing her for every little thing now, and her friendship with Adam was once more blown up into a huge fight, without any reason at all.

“You could at least listen to her, Fred,” Charlie tried to convince him.

“I’m done listening to her. This is NOT my fault.”

Fred had been a pig-headed fool ever since he’d kicked out Cecilia from his room after their last fight. Charlie believed that Fred was making up for all the anger he’d been repressing the last few days, with Adam and everything.

To let it all out at the same time on Cecilia wasn’t fair. Fred had to know that too.

Fred had been trying to pull his ‘if you’re not on my side, you’re on her side’-routine, but Charlie didn’t let him get away with it. Okay, he and Cecilia had a big argument just the other day, but that had blown over as soon as Fred had started to yell at her.

Now his latest mission was to get Fred to stop being so stupid. Not the easiest thing in the world, but he could at least try.
