CIMASCH Service Unit Meeting Notes
October 18, 2005
back

Introduction of new leaders - New leaders received their Leader Pins from Milda.  Milda also explained that the stars on the name tags indicated attendance at different meetings and events within the service unit.

Fall Products - Terri needs all the order forms from the troops.  Products may be delivered on or around November 9.  You will be contacted with a time to come pick up the products.

Cookies - Pat and LaDonna will be taking the initial order and having the booth lottery after the next service unit meeting.  Your initial training will be after the next service unit meeting also.  Experienced cookie parents will attend one training while the new parents will attend another training at the same time.  Please make sure your cookie parent attends these meetings.  It will begin at about 7:45 PM

FOGS - Friends of Girl Scouting - Sally told us about the FOGS collection that we are conducting within the service unit.  We can raise about $600.00 if every girl donates $3.00.  We would like to see 100% participation.  She passed out the envelopes needed to collect the money.  This money gives girls an opportunity to participate in activities and events that they could not afford to pay for on their own.  This money stays in the Girl Scout - Lone Star Council.

Meeting places - If you know of a place to meet for new Girl Scout troops, please contact Milda or Edie.  The lawyer for the Church of Christ is looking over the insurance paperwork and will let us know if they will approve us to use their facility as a meeting location.  If you are in need of a place to meet, you can use the pavilions at the park for free.

Skating - Skating had to be canceled.  Please find another way to celebrate Juliette Low's birthday (October 31).

Scavenger Hunt Food Drive - Sher would like all the troops that would like to participate to meet at 8:30 AM at Watts Elementary to pick up their maps and get directions.  Please dress for the weather.  We will meet at RACAP to sort, count and donate all the items collected.  The troop with the most points will win $25.00 towards a pizza party.

CIMASCH Service Unit Christmas Party - We will have a Christmas party on Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.  We will have food and watch the Schertz Christmas Parade.  Bring your gifts to fill the stockings for our Stuff-a-Stocking community service project.  We are hoping to have a dance for the older girls too.

Marion Project Care - Please bring any dressy clothes for the Marion Project Care.  It is a nonprofit organization that helps families in need.  We would like to donate as many clothes as possible to help families by donating new or gently used dresses and outfits that might be worn during the holiday season.  Please bring any donations to the next service unit meeting.

Sevice Unit Library - Terri brings books and other items of interest that can be checked out of the Service Unit Library.  Please return the item by the next meeting.
