Francesca Annis

A few years ago I discovered the amazing Dune universe. I had heard of it before on TV and I was curious about it. So I was very happy to hear that the movie was to be displayed the next Monday on TV. Although now I know the book is much stroger, I put the movie in my memory next to "Brazil" and "1984", as the best movies I have ever seen. Two months later I read the book and realised that they had to cut much of that great philosophy and add some bullshit instead, to make the movie intelligible for everybody (I have read an article about the movie in a newspaper and didn't agree it's opinion, that DUNE was a low-quality special effects movie; do you define the quality of a movie by that of it's special effects?).

I had difficulties finding Chapterhouse of Dune, but after weeks of insisting I found it in the municipal Library (it seemed to me that everybody in this town was reading it; on my two week permision to read it at home I borrowed it to two of my friends).

I searched the Internet for Dune material and found the Arrakeen museum, from wich I copied a few shots from the movie (most of the above pictures come from that location). I also found a reffence on the movie. That's where I found out that Francesca Annis played Lady Jessica. I searched the Internet for Francesca material and found a few pictures from Dune. I was however surprised to see that she doesn't look as she did in Dune.

I guess that there couldn't have been any better choice for Lady Jessica in the movie than the acting talent and natural beauty of Francesca and the profesionalism and genius of the makeup and hairstyle team.
