History of PKAYIM

The proposal to establish Welfare Organization of the Islamic Orphanage Muar was triggered during a meeting between YB Dato 'Abd Razak bin Hj Abdullah, Muar District Officer, YBhg. Dato 'Sulaiman Shah b Ninam now Tun (deceased) and Mr. Hj Abd Ghafar Ali b. Ali.


Following that, a meeting was held on 6 April 1979 at the residence Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Dato 'Hj Sulaiman b Ninam Shah was attended by 46 members. The meeting today unanimously agreed to establish the Orphans Welfare Muar (PKAYIM). On 24 April 1979 a sponsorship committee was formed with 23 members of the committee.


On May 19, 1980, the Welfare Organization of the Islamic Orphanage Muar officially registered as an organization with registration number J 1163 (Johor) addressed the House of Masjid Jamek Bandar Maharani, Muar because at that time there was no PKAYIM own office building.

On December 11, 1981 PKAYIM temporary office has been placed in the home of Mr. Ali bin Hj Abd Ghaafar first secretary PKAYIM address No 40, Jalan Sulaiman, Muar.

In 1981 the Committee had PKAYIM Back to the Johor state government to purchase two bungalow in Jalan Petri No 18 and No 24 Jalan Majidi to a dormitory PKAYIM.

Both buildings were purchased at a price of RM200,000.00 which is then submitted to the Johor Religious Department as Trustees and subsequently handed over to PKAYIM to a dormitory.

On 24 October 2005 the old building at No 18 Jalan Petri was demolished to re-built the building that more perfect.

The expense of building a new building of RM1.5 million was from proceeds of sincere people donate either through regular donations or donations raya cards collected bit by bit.
