Things are going well, and this weekend was filled with tests for him, all of which he passed with flying colours (sometimes literally). Saturday a.m. he had his first free play time in the ball diamond near our apartment, and he raced happily back and forth between us as we took turns calling for him. Next was the 4 hour car ride home to my parents, and he relaxed in the back the whole way, with a bathroom and stretch your legs break half way. When we arrived he met the cat, who hissed at him and went upstairs for the rest of the weekend. He was interested but not showing any sign of aggression. Then we took him for a walk through the bush and fields of my parents' back yard. He was overwhelmed with all the things to smell and see. He is absolutely petrified of the horses, and almost gave me rope burn from panicked pulling on his leash. I think that will take some work :) . Later that night Splash the pomeranian came home, and he followed her around intently, and when eventually he was off leash he barked for the first time, bowing to her, trying to get her to play. (She said she wasn't interested.)The next day was my Grandma's 80th birthday party, with 20 family members and 4 dogs including Kestrel. He loved our 2 year old cousin, mostly because he could reach her face to kiss her. We had to hold him back because he would have licked her all day. At first she was calling him "big puppy" and petting him a lot, but by the end of the afternoon she was calling him "bad ditty (doggy)". He didn't pay much attention to the other pomeranian, but had a good time playing with the jack russell. He excitedly greeted all of our guests, without jumping up, and was much admired. My grandma especially loved him, as she has always loved dogs, and knows a lot about different breeds. He settled down eventually, and flopped on his blanket as a footstool for those on the couch. I will send you a photo of him in his coat when it is developed. Thanks a lot for all the scanned photos you sent us. Do you find the greyhounds have to have booties in the winter? Phebe
