Cierra
Biography
Cierra is a native of Georgia, born and raised, where she continues to reside today. She has been entertaining since the very young age of 5.
Her musical progression began at the age of 5, when her mother enrolled her in piano lessons. She then turned her musical interest toward singing, and by the age of 8 she was allowed to perform in the school chorus, even though she technically wasn't old enough. She continued to sing at her church, even performing solos for Sunday morning worship, as well as participating in holiday specials.
Later, she auditioned for and got a spot on an exclusive singing and dancing team with her school, where she was able to perform in the MACY'S Christmas Parade in downtown Atlanta. She even had the honor of performing for the then Governor of Georgia, Gov. Zell Miller, on the steps of the Capitol. Her photograph appeared on the front page of the local section of the Atlanta Journal and Constitution for her performance that day.
At the age of 11, Cierra decided to do something different, she began playing flute. She traveled the southeast performing with her band, including parades at Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. She continued to play, even at church, until she graduated from high school.
Cierra eventually gave up music all together to become a mother. And after some life altering events, Cierra decided she couldn't live without her music any more. So she returned to singing, and she began working with a coach to fine tune her voice. She also did something she had never done before, she began writing her own songs.
Today Cierra is working with Brian of Sound Decision Studios on a 3 song demo that will become part of her EP hopefully to be released this fall (2003).
