We have walked for many years
Traveling the path of life
Giving and taking.
We have created and fought wars together
We have made homes together
We have cried tears on the life trail
We have known joy in our sharing
Of self and others.
We have led the quest for peace
We have sat and learned of wisdom
Given from the One
And all that is created in oneness
Now we are here
In this time and this life
Reflecting the images of each other
Taking the wisdom of our worlds.
Walked in our history making
Our knowing is now shared.
When one is known,
The wisdom of two is experienced
The visions of two are seen
In the touching of one.
We discover
The journey of now
The why of tomorrow.
The words we speak
The hope we hold
The shadows we dance within
Reveal the wisdom making of tomorrows
The lives to be lived
Wars to be created and fought in sharing battle
Peace making to be honored
Homes to live love within
Tears to lead our way
Joy to be left behind in our path
For those that follow
In the walking of their journey making
We have been teachers
We have been students
We have died with those
