Hear me Great Spirit I, Black Wolf, whose courage in battle is sung of in the lodges of my people and in the lodges of my enemies and who would die a thousand deaths rather than surrender to anothers rule am on a journey that has my heart pounding like a young warrior on his first hunt. I'm surrendering my heart, not to the bow or the knife of an enemy, but to the gentlest of spirits. Her spirit is as strong as any warrior's, and as soft and gentle as moonlight on a stream, and her beauty is like that of an autumn sunset. Give me the wisdom to treat her love with gentleness and respect. Let our shadows walk side by side til our journey's end. Give me the wisdom to listen when she speaks and the courage to follow her advice. Let our sons grow into strong warriors and our daughters into beautiful maidens like their mother. Guide me in these things Great Spirit so that I may honor her love with my own.
