Oh Great Spirit hear these words I speak for my people The new sun will give birth to a day of tears The crys of our women will be heard in many lodges Mothers will weep for husbands and sons Daughters will cry for fathers and brothers Please Great Spirit Dry their tears and turn their crys of sorrow into songs of joy Let their hearts sing in the knowledge that their loved ones died as warriors should Protecting their families and preserving the freedom our people have known since you gave the breath of life to the first warrior Please Great Spirit, let the spirit of the eagle keep our warrior's eyes keen Let brother wind carry their arrows to their mark I do not ask these things so that we may destroy our enemies, but to let us survive and live in peace. Protect our warriors and welcome my brothers you choose to take to your lodge and guide them on their journey Welcome also, those warriors of our enemies who will join you today We honor you with the battle for it is you who is the giver of all we have and the maker of the path we walk.
