SM Foundation-CIDSS-Hold Medical Mission in La Trinidad

LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET - At least 200 individuals were treated for various ailments last August 27 in a medical mission conducted by the Municipal Health Office in cooperation with the SM Foundation Incorporated (SMFI), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (CIDSS).

La Trinidad was identified as one of the beneficiaries for the Gamot Para Sa Kapwa, a project  headed by SM Foundation where identified areas  are granted medical aid in the form of donated medical supplies.  The project primarily targets CIDSS areas.

According municipal mayor Nestor B. Fongwan, Sr., the medicines have greatly benefited his constituents as they have difficulty accessing services particularly for dermatological problems.  Assisting in the dispensing of the medicines was a team from the Municipal Health Office led by Dr.  Doris C. Jovellanos.

Similar missions were also conducted in three barangays in Baguio City last October 3 and 5. Another mission is set for barangay Beckel in the same municipality on October 12. act
