RIZAL TO BE FEATURED IN CIDSS INFOMERCIAL

RIZAL, KALINGA- The municipality of Rizal will be featured in an upcoming video documentary-cum-infomercial to be produced by the National Secretariat scheduled to be aired nationwide in 2002.  Rizal, a best CIDSS LGU awardee in 2000, was chosen as one of three CIDSS communities to exemplify the gains of CIDSS as an anti-poverty program.  A municipality in Visayas and Mindanao will also be featured in the documentary.

According to Tony Roma, Information Officer for the National Secretariat, the video material will be used as a medium to advocate for the adoption of the CIDSS strategy as a viable anti-poverty mechanism. 

“We want CIDSS to be visible during Congressional budget deliberations hence the production of this infomercial”, adds Mr. Roma. Furthermore, the documentary is aimed at informing other local chief executives and the legislators that the strategy works as exemplified in the featured communities.

The video documentary will feature among others how the community organized themselves in meeting their minimum basic needs and the impact of the program in the community and in their lives.  There are also plans for the production of a radio infomercial. act
