NEW YORK CITY's HOME GROWN AFRICAN CICHLID FISHERIES
Cyprichromis leptosoma
1The female has just laid an egg which, drops down past her head.
2 She immediately swims forward, picking up the egg.  The egg attracts the attention of another fish, causing the breeding parents to flash their fins defensively
3 With the egg in her mouth, she begins gasping at the male's egg dummy, located on his pelvic fins, while he releases milt, fertilizing the egg.
4 Once the egg is fertilized, she stops gasping, signaling the male to positions himself to the rear of the female.
5 He then starts gasping at the females pelvic fin, stimulating the female to lay another egg.
