"Most regions of Hrn are self-sufficient with the exception of salt and mineral ores."
Ecomomics article in CGI's HrnWorld (#5001)
"The Kingdom of Azadmere is the only district on Hrn required to import food. The high altitude and poor soils do not permit wheat to be grown; oats and barley are the staple crops. Wheat and other agricultural products are imported from Kaldor."
Azadmere (city) article in CGI's Azadmere kingdom module (#5004)
I have taken a fairly straight-forward approach: if we accept the premise that there is no large scale import to or export from Chybisa of basic foodstuffs and other commodities, then the amount of foodstuff and other commodities produced on Chybisa's manors must be only slightly more than the amount consumed by Chybisa's populace. That conclusion allows GMs to estimate the amount of each commodity that will be produced throughout the kingdom, and to place natural limits on the amount of income generated by any one manor.
That conclusion also allows us to estmate the amount of 'surplus production capacity' (in terms of unused acres) distributed amongst Chybisa's fiefs.
