Who is Savannah?
The following paragraphs concern the study of Savanah's personality, as induced by the positions of the planets and Rising sign. Some of the character traits mentioned may seem completely contradictory and incompatible. This is because the rough-hewn personality is a rarity. Usually, individuals are made up of a subtle orchestration of many different tones or aspects. However, serious introspection or detailed analysis should make it possible to distinguish the opposing or diverging images comprising Savanah's overall character, and perhaps, in time, find the best and most harmonious way to integrate them.

The specificity of Savanah's personality can be summed up by her nostalgic yearning for her roots - a " paradise lost " which is also a source of energy and vitality. Savanah's power is linked to memory: she inhabits a present which draws sustenance from the past, from continuity and timelessness. The power of memory can either be dynamic or static, however. The consciousness of an inaccessible past can either immobilize her in melancholy and nostalgia, or shine as an ideal which motivates her to recreate a new harmony. Her attitude and approach to the past are of key importance. If she thinks of it as a refuge, her obsession with it may be such that her progress is impeded. If, on the contrary, she thinks of it as a starting point or launching pad for her comprehension of the human condition, she will integrate it into her self-realization process. Savanah possesses a potential for great maturation and wisdom.
She is relatively slow-moving, and may feel protected from the outer world by an armor of education, family surroundings (her most cherished environment), and social status. For this reason, she tends to limit the scope of her activities to a single well-defined sphere, and, within the boundaries she has established, releases the entire spectrum of her rich and varied emotional expression. Sometimes she may feel overwhelmed by the prospect of situations which will introduce her to unfamiliar factors and elements; she see them as intrusions. Before she judges an event, a person, or a thing, she attempts to absorb it into her private universe. Of a fairly subjective and introverted turn of mind, she defines everything in terms of the sensation it arouses in her as her consciousness embraces it. This predominance of sensation gives her extreme sensory finesse: her perceptions are intense, keen, penetrating right to the heart of people and things. Her imagination, which is a function of her perceptions, is also lively, colorful, and prolific.
Because she is sometimes self-centered, attentive to and protective of her inner self, she may tend to withdraw into her shell when she encounters an aggression from the outer world. As a result, she may sometimes become distant and secretive. Her tendency to be rather short-tempered and easily offended, a classic flaw, is also the consequence of her need for protection and security. Despite her sensitivity, and her ability to be genuinely virtuous, Savanah is not always gentle. Her outbreaks of hostility are all the more wounding because of their rarity. However, more than aggressiveness, Savanah's stubbornness, slow insistence, and undying determination are the extremes which may complicate her life.

Once again, the family setting is vitally important to her. Her attachment to her family in general and her mother in particular is deep. The way she resolves (or has resolved) the transition to adulthood and independence will be crucial to her well-being, both in terms of her inner harmony (the sensation and sensitivity which comprise her identity) and in terms of her relationships with men.
Due to the influence of Sagittarius (the Centaur-Archer) Rising, Savanah, like the half-animal, half-human Centaur, has a dual, ambivalent nature, vagrant and capricious. It is natural for her to be simultaneously conventional and rebellious: she can happily submit to society and convention for a time, only to emerge committed to rugged individualism, or vice-versa. Her inner attachment to an ideal of liberty and emancipation does not prevent her from adopting a sociable, pleasant attitude at social events. This dichotomy in her personality grants her such useful social skills as adaptability and poise, but inside, Savanah faces a quest for her true identity and consciousness. If she is unable to center herself, her consciousness may remain undifferentiated and vague. Her primary psychological task is to restore the harmony reigning between the two entities dwelling within her. She must not limit herself to being either one or the other: neither the superficial social mask nor the indomitable beast. She will achieve true psychic and existential stability by personifying a blend of these two behavioral tendencies. When Savanah is comfortable with her individuality, she can radiate optimism and energy; flexible and elastic, she will delight in any change or unpredictability, without losing sight of her long-term purposes. Eminently social, she will express her true nature by becoming deeply involved with groups and taking on duties and responsibilities as a member. An excellent teacher, she will enjoy her ability to infuse them with her idealistic enthusiasm and visions for the future.

Savanah is highly aware of psychological, metaphysical, or mystical questions. The future may hold a complete psychological metamorphosis in store for her. Savanah needs others to fulfill herself and accomplish her ambitions.
At the time of Savanah's birth, her Rising Sign was located in Sagittarius (the Archer), while the Sun was passing through the constellation of Cancer (the Crab). A summary of the various clues mentioned above provide Savanah's personality profile; the following key words distill the essence of her character and indicate certain contradictions which may be sources of tension: Impetuosity - Sensitivity - Enthusiasm - Imagination - Group spirit - Eccentricity - Impressionability - Savings and thrift - Analytical mind - Suspicion - Worldly concerns - Obstinacy - Projection - Premonition

Torn between her desire for independence and freedom and an undeniable need for security, Savanah will have trouble finding an inner balance in the early part of her life. Although she is attracted by novelty and change, tempted by travel and exploration, she will find herself confined by fear as well as some egotistical inner necessity to a small circle of interests and friends. Likewise, even in daily life, she is trapped by her contradictory aspirations, and displays jagged behavior. She is sometimes enthusiastic, sometimes unreasonably fearful. As an adult, she will probably achieve security and self-confidence when she founds her own home. At that point, all of her considerable resources will blossom: her mind, released from the constraints of fear, will be open to intuitive intelligence emanating from her unconscious, and her fertile imagination will once again become a source of joy and creativity.
Born three-and-a-half to seven days after the rising of the New Moon, Savanah is said to be a " Crescent Moon " lunar type. This " soli-lunar " configuration indicates that she may need to make an effort to free herself from the past. Something related to her childhood, her parents, or her ancestors is holding her back, impairing her effectiveness, and should be overcome. Due to her past, she refuses tried-and-true models, is always fighting to justify her innovative viewpoints, and tends to break away from tradition. She is hardly ever aware that she is making career and lifestyle choices which are based on an urge to modify her relationship to society, and the rigid standards and models from the past.

Due to the influence of Jupiter dominating her birth chart, Savanah has undeniable social ambition and many resources with which to achieve it (see CAREER POTENTIAL). Relatively confident in herself and her abilities, she has the potential to be a leader and chief. It therefore seems probable that she will rise to success. However, she should question herself about what sort of success she seeks, and at what price. She should be aware that the taste of victory may be bitter if she finds she has sacrificed other aspects of life, like love, friendship, or creativity, to obtain it. She must consciously select what she is willing to invest in order to secure honor, money, and social consideration.
