In the beginning of time there was nothing much in writing to reveal the coming of the Messiah.  When the ten commandment were given it was because man could not live the life that God demanded.  Because we could not live that life there was a separation from God.  He therefor came up with the sacrifice of His only Son, Jesus Christ the righteous.  Here was truly the only sinless life ever offered for all of us to have a relationship with The Father.  In no other name can we find a path back to The Father.  Many a religion has tried to add or subtract from this fact to reach heaven.  But none has assended except Jesus.  Therefor it's still by way of the old rugged cross that man can be saved from the depths of hell and enter into the realtionship with the Son, Jesus and the Father, God.
This precious symbol is the reality of God's banner against all possible enemies of the Cross.  With our hopes and trust in the very essence of what it represents we fing a way to maintain the relationship we need to live with our Savior, Jesus.  Strenght comes from Joy and joy comes from the victory we know we have in salvation through the shed blood of Jesus.
As we combat the two forces of ourselves and the desire to serve our Lord, Jesus, we must realize the tremendous battle we are under.  There must always be an awareness of what we do and how that may look to others that are trying to follow the same path of salvation.  Too little thought is given to the concept of avoiding the very appearence of evil and too great of response of if it feels good do it.  If there is no conscience of our actions, then why did Jesus really die?  Good or evil thrives in our behavior, so let's straighten up.
Our lives are all about humanity and not ourselves.  Or our service to Jesus is lacking.
At the end of your life you better know that your closure is with Jesus!
