The Church of FOK was founded in 2001 by students Mark and Rohan Windle. The pair met in GSODA, a theatre company in Geelong, Australia, and soon became great friends and a heavy influence on each other. Through the additional influence of comic greats such as Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Macallif and of course Monty Python the pair developed a style of absurd humor both individually and, as they were better known for, as a duo. In late 2002 Rohan moved interstate and Mark became an accountant. While travelling, Rohan was fired from one of his jobs and was for a short time engaged. When Mark rang back ten minutes later, however, he was off the phone again.
Mark is still an accountant and Ro has since returned to Geelong, both of them recently sparking a new interest in the Church of FOK. Over the last few weeks, publicity has resulted in a new level of hysteria over the Church. Mainly from other religious groups who don't like us.
Noone knows exactly why Mark and Rohan Windle decided to create the Church of FOK. Some say it's for personal gratification, other historians have suggested that they are fulfilling an obscure and improbable prophecy. All we know for sure is that some time in 2001, they spawned a new religion with a completely humorous outlook on life and their surroundings. And with the list of official members of the Church of FOK growing steadily, the future looks bright for this new faith. |
