| THE CHURCH OF FOK |
| The belief that humor is the greatest good and a joke is better than ten barrels of holy water is known as humorism. People that believe in humorism, are humorists. Because it has been only recently founded, Humorists, unlike other religious groups, have only one church they can follow. The Church of FOK. The Church of FOK teaches that if it's funny, it's OK (Thus the name, FOK - Funny so it's OK). The Church was created for people with a sense of humor and the need for either or both of an excuse to create comical mischief and the need for spiritual direction. Members of the Church of FOK have the right to abuse rights whenever it is funny to do so, create mischief when funny, and, for that matter, do whatever they want as long as it's funny. The Church of FOK accepts that many things which are not funny are OK (such as eating, sleeping, necessary things), but maintains that anything that is funny is OK. The Church of FOK is in direct contradiction with most other religions, in that other religions claim that our lives should be dedicated, at least in part, to some sort of God and that this is the divine purpose of life. We beg to differ. Or rather, demand to differ. Humorists do not believe in the existence of a God, or of several Gods. In the eyes of many other religious leaders, that would render our time on Earth purposeless - which is where we come in. The aim of a humorist is to enjoy life, and since arguably the purest form of enjoyment is laughter, laughter is the ultimate aim of the Church of FOK. The Church is based in Geelong, Australia, and is always looking for new members to spread the word. Well, words, really. You know what we mean. Members must have a sense of humor and no other faith (although we do allow conditional members who can maintain another religion while aligning themselves with most of what we say.) So whether you believe in God or not, join up as a member of this new, exciting and amusing religion. |
