Hello! My name is Ron Beckett and I am an evangelist for the church of Christ in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Welcome to our web site. It is our hope that you will find this site useful and the lessons true to God's holy word.
Interpretation is important. If you were to write a book and I quoted some things you said out of context, thus distorting your intended meaning. You would be angry with me and I just might have a lawsuit on my hands. It is my responsibility to interpret your words in context, making an honest effort to understand the ideas that you as the author intend to convey by such words. Using proper rules of interpretation, logic and common sense that all language demands. The only correct interpretation is the interpretation that conveys the intent of the author.
When it comes to God's word it is our task to seek out the ideas that the author intended. There cannot be several interpretations all equally valid. One idea is correct and that is the idea the author intends. The real issue is not what this preacher might say or that preacher might teach.... not this churches teaching or that churches, the real issue is WHAT DOES GOD SAY?
Our prayerful study is to the end that we might know God's will, do God's will, and teach God's will.
