All of Christendom agrees that the Bible is divided into three ages:

1. Patriarchal

2. Mosaic

3. Christian

 

The Patriarchal Age

In the Patriarchal age (which lasted approximately twenty-five hundred years), God spoke directly to His people. See the following scriptures:

Genesis 3:9-11

(Adam)

Genesis 6:13-14

(Noah)

Genesis 12:1-2

(Abram)

 During this age, the Patriarch, or head of the family, offered up animal sacrifice for himself and his family. See the following scriptures:

Genesis 4:4-8

(Cain and Abel)

Genesis 8:20

(Noah)
