| DALYMOUNT PARK (Home of Bohemians since 1901) |
| On Saturday, 7th September, 1901, Dublin's Lord Mayor, Tim Harrington MP kicked off at the official ceremony to open Bohemian's new home, Dalymount Park. The ground was a humble one then, but was rapidly improved and hosted the first of its many internationals in 1904 when Ireland's amateurs met Scotland. It was to be the first of 81 full internationals that the ground would hold. In 1927 Dalymount was substantially reconstructed to the highest standards and on the most modern lines at that time. In May 1957 "Dalyer" housed it's record attendance of 46,700 for the World Cup match with England. Dalymount's eagerly awaited facelift commenced on 14th June 1999 with a complete refit of the main stand (which is now called the JODI Stand), the first phase in an ambitious yet practical project which will convert the ground into a 20,000+ all-seater stadium. |
