| How Can I KNOW That I'm on my way to HEAVEN? |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| SALVATION NEEDED: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. The Fact of Sin | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Romans 3:10 says: "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one." (Jesus was the only righteous one to walk on the face of the earth) Romans 3:23 says: "For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Jerimiah 17:9 says: "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately wicked, who can understand it?" I John 1:8 says: "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Ecclesiastes 1:7 says: "Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins." These verses assure us that we are ALL sinners, yes, every one of us. We must all understand this, or else we would never recognize the need for salvation. Much like when we are sick, we must first admit we are sick before we ever even consider going to a doctor. Such is the case with our soul, and we all need God: the soul doctor. |

| 2. The Consequences of Sin: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Isaiah 59:2 says: "But your inequities have made a separation between you and your God and your sins have hid His face from you so that He does not hear you." Romans 3:23 says: "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." In the first verse, the fact is established that there is a separation, (barrier, wall) between us and God and us. The barrier is sin. Just as a river separates two pieces of land, so is the case with God and us and the river of sin between us. In the second verse, the wages (what we have earned) are explained. When we work at our jobs, we earn pay (wages) for our work. Our sins have earned us wages, and the payment for our sins is death. Beyond physical death, is spiritual death, which means eternal separation from God. Every sinner deserves spiritual death. |

| SALVATION PROVIDED | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Jesus Christ is the Son of God: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Matthew 3:17 says: "...This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased." John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life." |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. He Lived a Perfect Life: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| II Corinthians 5:21 says: "He made him who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. He Died for Our Sins: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Romans 5:8 says: But God demonstrates His love for us, in that while we were yet sinner, Christ died for us." Jesus Christ died for all of our sin: past, present and future. When the blood of Jesus was shed for the sins of the world, it provided a bridge over the river of sin that separates us from God. We can know everything mentioned above, and still die and miss heaven. the Bible teaches us that we must receive Christ so that His blood, which He shed on calvary, will cover the river of sin that separates us from God. |

| SALVATION ACCEPTED | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. We Must Receive Jesus Christ as Saviour: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| John 1:12 says: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." Ephesians 2:8-9 says: "For by grace you have been saved through faith: and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not as a result of works, that no one should boast." |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. When We Receive Christ, We Experience a New Birth: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| John 3:3 says: "...Jesus declared, 'I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.'" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. We Receive Him by Faith: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| John 6:40 says: "For my Father's will is that everyone who ollks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." Ephesians 2:8,9 says: "For by grace you have been saved through faith: and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4. You Can Receive Christ Right Now By Faith Through Prayer: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Romans 10:13 says: "For, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer: "Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be." Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life, as He promised. If you prayed this prayer just now, write, call or e-mail us and we will get materials to you that will help you to grow as a Christian. We want to pray for you and help you any way we can! We REALLY Care about you! |
