The story of Hanakimi starts very innocently as a girl who sees her idol jumper, Sano, on TV and wants to see him. However the story doesnt just end there. She decides she will transfer to his school and see him in person! Sounds good right? One problem. Izumi Sano attends an all boys school!
HEH! Lots of crossdressing fun. :) This is actually the first time I've read a story about a crossdressing girl (Mulan related stories don't count)... I always read about guys crossdressing as girls, like Mint na Bokura, W-Juliet, and Fushigi Yuugi's Nuriko.
Anyway I really like this story. In fact I like all Hisaya Nakajo comics like Missing Piece~ She is the BOMB!! I wish I could get some of her doujinshi though.. oh well. :P
Her art style is very simple and crisp, and pictures don't get convoluted like many manga do. Ah... Dr. Umeda! He's such a cutie. Too bad he's gay. Wait. Too bad he's a manga character!! XD
As for plot, this story doesn't offer much like the angsty FY the brilliant NGE or even the complicated CCS, but it does offer some brilliant sap scenes!! :D
Anyway.. this is one of my favorite long-running series other than Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (which I MUST MUST see as an anime.. sigh).. They are both really good.
Anyway.. check out Hanakimi! You won't regret it! :)
