By day Maron Kusakabe is a normal school girl, but when the sun goes down, she becomes Kaitou Jeanne (literally "Thief Jeanne",.. but doesnt Kaitou sound cooler? :P)! She is aided by a cute sidekick angel named Fin, who tells her to steal paintings to take "their deception of beauty"... Her best friend Miyako is the daughter of the police chief, and she has her eye on Jeanne and is determined to catch her. Kaitou Jeanne has a tough job, but things are about to get tougher when a new rival appears who wants to steal the paintings himself and to stop Jeanne of her ways.. No matter what it takes.
This is kind of hard to explain... But even though it soundslike a very stereotypical magical girl type story, there are a lot more to this story then it seems. After the first volume, I was HOOKED up until  the very last chapter of the series. There are alot of unexpected twists and turns which is really what makes this series so great.
Arina Tanemura's very distinct and detailed style comes through in this series. The sad faces she draws makes you want to cry when you look at them, and the happy faces make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Hair is extremely detailed--I think it would take me like .. one whole day just trying to draw Maron's hair. And the clothes!  Gorgeous! Everything is just super-detailed. You can tell alot of time and effort was put into this.
My favorite character is either Miyako or Noin. Miyako because even though she appears to be tough, but is actually a very sweet and caring character. Noin because.. well... he has long hair! XD Aside from that... he's also extremely cute! XD
heheheoo...
All in all, this is a very cute series, one you should check out. XD
