Smokey Mountains
Seand and I went to the Smokies during Jan of 2005.  It was our first time in Tennesse.  The weather was really nice (~60).  We hiked on the Appalachian Trial which runs at the border of TN and NC.  We also went on a hike in search of really old majestic trees.
Here are some of the pictures from our trip.
Pretty huh!! The view of Smokey Mountains during sunset.
Sean  and me on a bridge overlooking beautiful green-blue stream.  You just don't see runing water this beutiful and clear in Northeast:(
Me at a rock near the stream.
Me at the Appalachian Trail. This was a rough hike with snow and ice still coevering the uneven trail of AT.  And I also had to get used to hiking at elevatio close to ~6000 ft.  You really run out of breath quick!
Me on begining of my hike on Appalachian Trail again.  This is one of few spots that the trail actually had man-made steps. And the trail keep going up and up and up for couple miles.
Sean again.  On top of a hill of the AT.
Oh we have so many of these pictures, where we take the picture ourselves.... The reason why I am making face is that by the end of this AT hike, it began to rain/snow/sleet for over an hour.  Let me tell you it's very cold when it rains/snow/sleets in high altitude.  Thanks god for Gor-tex!
"excellent!!" says Sean as he sat down to have his picture taken by me.  It's not that the weather was cloudy per se, but when you are high in the mountains, I guess the clouds are just that much closer to you...
Picture of me and Sean at TN/NC state Line.  We just finished four-hour hike on AT.  I was so glad that I was back at the parking lot!!
