A Cover Letter should be original , outstanding,
enthusiastic and sincere.
Addressee
We
should send out a cover letter addressed to a particular person, try to find
out the name of the personnel manager or president of the company. If
you can not find the name, then you should address your letter to the
Personnel Department or the Human Resources Department.

The
Salutation
Dear
Mr. Abc, Ms Abc, Dr. Abc, or "Dear Employer," or "Dear Director of Personnel".
If the person's name is common to
both sexes, the salutation should read "Dear Chris Smith" or
"Dear Jackie Smith".
First Paragraph
The first paragraph should
explain why you are writing , for example, you are
applying for a specific position or inquiring as to whether there is an opening with
the company.
You
should use your own and natural writing, do not use the standard opening found in cover letter manuals.
Do
express that you are enthusiastic about the job.
Second
and Third Paragraphs
Point out your practical work experience, specific
achievements, and unique qualifications.
Show how you are qualified
for the
position and why should you be hired for the job.
You
should let the reader have the impression that you are not sending copies of
the same cover letter to all employers you applied for. So, do research on a particular company and apply your skills and
accomplishments to its particular needs.
If the advertisement requests you to state a salary, you can state your
requirement at the end of this paragraph. You can write, " As to my
salary requirement, my current salary including benefits is $33333 per
annual. Or, " My salary requirement is $33333 per annual.
Final
Paragraph
Express
that you are interested in interviewing for the position, refer the
reader to your enclosed resume, and do not forget to thank the reader for
his/her attention to your application.
