Chun Jui's Blog
I have moved my web journal from my website onto this Yahoo 360 blogger!
Changes

Today, I was reminded of how many changes people around me are going through or about to go through in their lives.  My good friend Cindy is a good example.  Today, I went to her new house for lunch.  This girl is going through so many changes!  First, she is preparing for her wedding this August (I'm her bridesmaid).  She's also  gradually moving into her new house, as well as finishing up her Master's degree this year!  It's so exciting to see her go through these changes in her life because I've known her since our undergrad days in university.  Even though we haven't known each other for THAT long, we have seen each other go through important changes in our lives.  Getting married is definitely a huge change, so I'm very excited and honoured that I get to be a part of that for her!

After spending some time with Cindy AND getting measured for my bridesmaid dress (NOT fun!!), I went off to shop for another friend.  One of my best friends, Elizabeth, is expecting her first baby with her husband Chris, and her baby shower is in two weeks.  Again, another friend going through another life-changing event!  I have known Liz since we were 7 but didn't become super-close until high school.  Even after she moved to Kitchener, we still remained close.  Anyway, while at the store, I wanted to buy everything for the new baby!  Afterall, this is the baby of a person with whom I've basically grown up.

Even at work, there are seven pregnant teachers, and one teacher who is about to get engaged.  While I'm genuinely happy and excited for my co-workers and friends, at times, I must admit, I feel little sad.  I'm a little sad because I feel like while everyone around me are changing and growing, I'm still pretty much status quo.  I'm also a little sad because all these changes remind me that I'm no longer a child.  When I was a kid, time seemed to last forever.  Now, as an adult, there doesn't seem to be enough time for anything.  One day, I'm interviewing for a job, the next day, I'm going to a friend's wedding.  The day after, I'm playing with a friend's newborn baby!

I'm grateful for everything I have and I don't mean to wish my life away but I'm definitely looking forward to exciting changes to happen to me too!
