| Story: | Si Lung is a new CID and is part of Dai Yung's (Michael Tao) and Chung Yi's (Joey Leung) team. She happens to be a distant cousin of Yi Jai's (Chung Yi's nickname) who happens to live in his village also, although they didn't know until they find out from "Bak Leung" (Ha Ping). Si Lung's mom dies from cancer, but before she died, her mom tells her that her real father is actually another man, not the father she always knew. Si Lung finds out that Yi Jai was the boy who saved her when she fell in the waste pool when she was little, and she starts to secretly admire him. Unfortunately, at the same time, Yi Jai is pursuing another girl, SaSa (Winnie Yeung) and so, Si Lung keeps it a secret, confiding only with Jessie (Kenix Kwok). One night, while Yi Jai is in bed because he fainted from poison, she tells him in his sleep that she likes him, but he was actually awake and heard every word. Later, Si Lung finds out that her real father is a rich jewellery company owner. At first, he doesn't accept her as his daughter, because he's scared that she may be another person who's just claiming as a relative. Si Lung gets really mad at him. Then they both get kidnapped, and after they're safe, they started getting along as father and daughter. Tragically, Si Lung's father gets killed when they just started getting to know each other, and Si Lung's new-found family is ruined. Yi Jai starts to have feelings for Si Lung, but he is already dating Sasa, so he really had to decide. Not wanting to be the third party in Yi Jai and Sasa's relationship, Si Lung decides to leave Hong Kong with her step-sister, Lim Ching (Eileen Yeow), but Yi Jai goes to the airport and stops her. |

Jun Jun never knew her father because he left her mother before she was born, and her mother's boyfriend really annoys her. Another person that annoys her is Ga Kiu (Simon Lo), because of many misunderstandings; and his girlfriend, Winnie (Joyce Chen) annoys her more. She meets this good-looking guy, Ah Sum, and they start dating. Then, the next thing she knows, she's in the middle of a murder case, because her boyfriend's stepmother is killed. After ongoing investigation, she starts to discover that her boyfriend has mental problems, and he tries to kill her because he is jealous that she is talking to other guys. Fortunately, the police is just in time to save her. Ga Kiu and Jun Jun resolve to being friends, because they find it more sensible, and later, they become great pals. One day, when Jun Jun is out shopping with her friend (Irene Wang), she is kidnapped. When the police comes to rescue her, she is unconscious and there is a fire. Ga Kiu bravely goes in with the other policemen to save her. From then on, they start dating (Winnie dies early in the series). When Jun Jun and her mother went to the bank, they encounter a robber with a bomb, and then Jun Jun finds out that her mother is very very afraid of bombs because her father (or Jun Jun's grandfather) dissembled bombs, but was killed on the job. After their talk, Jun Jun's mother and Jun Jun start getting along. |

She hangs out with him for a while, and they start having feelings for each other. However, Ho Lam still thinks she's a girl from Mainland, and later he finds out from his brother, Ho Dung (Bobby AuYeung), that she's not. He gets mad and confronts her. Roy (Timmy Hung), an old friend, comes back from Canada. He wants to pursue Ivy, but Ivy still has feelings for Ho Lam. Roy knows this and tries to set them up, but the plan failed. Roy expresses his feelings to Ivy and Ivy, seeing that Ho Lam probably doesn't like her anymore, agrees to go out with him. During their dating, Ivy still shows feelings for Ho Lam. Because of this love triangle tension going on and with the advice the old lady (Fung Sui Jun) whom Ho Lam and Ivy were taking care of when she was still disguising as a "Mainland girl", the three of them decided that it was more sensible to just stay friends. |

| Story: | Raised in a poor family with an abusive alcoholic father, Chor Chor is really close to her mother, Mui Lai Leung (Bak Yun). But one night, her father gets killed in her house and her mother is accused of killing her father. Chor Chor tells the judge, Cheung Suet Lum (Marco Ngai) about her father and his doings, and Suet Lum is determined to find the truth to bring justice for Chor Chor and her mother. Because of many associations, Chor Chor and Suet Lum starts to get close, and Suet Lum expresses and admits his love for Chor Chor and writes a poem for her. He tells her that he doesn't mind her being low class. Chor Chor was so happy that she goes and tells her mother this. Her mother's face shows distress, but Chor Chor was so happy that she didn't recognize it. The reason for distress is because Lai Leung knows that Chor Chor and Suet Lum are really sister and brother. Suet Lum eventually finds out about this and needs to put an end to this relationship. One night, Chor Chor was waiting for Suet Lum at his house and when he comes home, he tells her that he was just playing with her and that he would never love a lowly girl like her. Chor Chor was really heartbroken at his words and runs out the door and into the forest. The words continue to ring in her mind and pierces her. She then commits suicide by hanging herself on one of the trees. |

Fortunately, she meets Ah Teen (Ekin Cheng) and finally finds someone that she can really click with. Several incidents that involved Ah Jing resulted in an accident or something negative, particularly when one day Kelly's puppy is killed and blood is on Ah Jing's hands. Kelly starts to distance away from Ah Jing, especially when Ah Jing is confirmed to have psychological problems. She starts to not like Hong Kong again and wants to go back to Los Angeles where she came from. She misses her boyfriend in LA, Roy (Tseung Hak), and they even want to secretly go back to LA together. Roy comes to HK to take her, but Kelly's mother discovered them together and Kelly runs off to Ah Teen's place. Then, Kelly, her mother, and Ah Jing make up and they become a happy family. Tragically, Kelly's mother gets killed in her own house and after the funeral, Kelly goes back to LA. |

She makes a bad investment and tries to run away from the loan sharks, so that they wouldn't disturb Ah Hei. But then Ah Hei stops her and tells her that they're going to through this together. He tells her he loves her and will take care of her and her baby. First, Ah Hei's parents were a little skeptical about her, but she shows that she has turned a new leaf. Bonnie gives birth to a baby boy, and she and Ah Hei get married. |

However, he didn't want to hurt his friend so he decided to keep it a secret that he liked her. But then, the whole family finds out, and so, Wah Yuk and Ng Po end up together. |

She cooks for him and his mother (Gigi Wong) and drives Man Dik to work when his license gets revoked. Kiki finally tells Man Dik that she likes him, but he says that he only loves Ah Hei. Kiki throws a temper tantrum and eventually, Kiki stops liking Man Dik. Instead she likes his brother Ma Bo (Hacken Lee), because he doesn't spoil her like everyone in her rich family does. When he has to take care of her when she breaks her leg, she falls for him. She tries to hook up with Ma Bo but he still has feeling for Ah Hei, who is kind of like his sister (not blood related). He goes out with Kiki to prove to Ah Hei and Man Dik that he doesn't like Ah Hei anymore. Kiki knows about this and eventually Kiki leaves Ma Bo a note saying that she went to Los Angeles and Ma Bo realizes that he likes Kiki too and goes to Los Angeles to find her. |
