| ~The Part of Me I Never Had 15~ |
| We got into the BMW, me driving. I drove around for a while, and then JC broke my thoughts, Jessie? Yeah? Theres something I need to tell you. What? Were leaving on Saturday. My heart dropped. If they were leaving, who could I lean on? In just a couple days, JC and I had gotten so close. I felt like I had known him forever. There was a sense of security I felt from his presence. Ok. Ill pack up and-" Who said anything about you staying here? But- Youre coming with us. But- You owe me remember? Yeah, but- So lets head over to your house, pack it up, and head back to the hotel, and well be ready to leave the day after tomorrow. But- No buts Jessie. Im not gonna leave here to be alone and miserable and me being guilty out of my mind. I parked the car and covered JCs mouth. I understand what youre trying to say JC, but I cant just leave like this. He pulled my hand off his mouth and held it in his own. Jessie, you can leave, and you know it. I want you to come with us. In just a couple days weve become so close. We cant just throw that away. Remember, you owe me. He took a breath and continued. Besides, if you stayed, Id miss you too much. I was kinda shocked at his last statement. Then I realized that I would miss him to death. Id miss you too JC. Then come with me. He looked into my eyes. His eyes were pleading with mine. I guess I have no choice. He broke out in a smile and hugged me. Then he kissed me. This time, out of love and passion. I kissed him back with feelings I never knew existed. I realized that I loved him. ************************************************************************* How long is the tour? I asked. About 8 months, he replied. Im gonna be with 5 guys with disgusting habits for 8 months?! I asked, disbelieving. Theyre not that bad, he laughed. Then he added, but watch out for dirty laundry. My eyes widened. He smiled. Now lets head to your house. Weve got some major packin to do. ********************************************************************************* I packed everything I needed with JCs help. We nearly packed a third of my belongings. Including my art stuff, CDs, laptop, and clothes. It was 3:45 when we finished. We collapsed onto my couch. In no time, we were sleeping from exhaustion. ********************************************************************************** I opened my eyes and looked at the clock sleepily. It read 4:30. Oh man I turned and shook JC awake. Ugh. Whats happening? He sat up and looked at his surroundings. What time is it? he asked with a yawn. 4:30. Already? he asked incredulously. Wed better get back to the hotel and meet up with the guys for dinner. Im starved. A light bulb went off in my head. JChow would like a homemade meal? Sounds good, why? I could cook some Chinese and have the guys over and have dinner here. You can cook? he asked with a disbelieving tone. Then, Oh. You can cook! Nice save Josh. I hit him with a throw pillow. Yes, I can cook. And youre gonna help me. Me? he asked overdramatically. Yes, you. Were gonna have a well cooked meal. Oh ok. I have no choice. I need Justin and Joey to finish off the rest of the food so I can leave with you guys. We laughed. How does he make me feel so good? Ok. After dinner do you want to see a movie or somethin? he asked hopefully. Sure. If we have time. Then I became more serious. Ok. You call the guys and tell them to be here at 7:15 alright? He gave me a salute. Yes maam! and marched off into the other room to make his calls. I glanced at my watch 5:40. Oh, great. Not much time I hurried into the kitchen and began to work. I washed the rice and put it into the rice cooker, I mixed the ingredients for the filling of the egg rolls, and had started to cut the egg roll wrap when JC came into the kitchen. What took you so long? I was discussing some things with the guys, he said nonchalantly. Ok. Here C. You can help me out, I said handing him the scissors. What do I do? Cut them into triangles. You can do that right? Of course I can. No problem. Good. Now get started. I cracked an egg and left the yolk in the bowl. Then I got some more rice, washed it and put it in a wok to fry. I also chopped up the vegetables into little pieces and put it in the wok. I stirred up and mixed some sauce into it. With the heat down to low, I went to wash the chicken, occasionally stirring up the rice. Im done! JC called out. Great. I put the chicken in a bucket of sauce. Then you can stir this up for me. Make sure every piece is covered. I handed the bucket and chopsticks to him. How much chicken did you make? Enough for Joey to pig out on. He laughed. What do I do after I get done with this? Theres grill outside. You can handle it right? Yeah. Ok. I looked at the clock. 5:30. Times running out. I started to make the egg rolls. ********************************************************************************* 50 minutes later, JC came back with the chicken in two trays. Jessie, these things smell so good! Whatd you put in them? JC asked. Secret recipe. I turned and said, Here C, come over here and try this. Tell me what you think. Why dont you try it? I want to know what other people think. Remember, I was raised on this stuff. I said, trying to make the point obvious. Ok. Im starving anyway. He took a bite out of the egg roll. Mmm! These are delicious! He eagerly ate up the rest of it. I let a sigh of relief escape my lips. Its still early, I said as I stirred up the fried rice. Sort of. We still need to set out the food and set the table. Oh yeah. Cmon. I grabbed a bunch of silverware and hurried to set the table, while JC discovered where the plates were. He brought them over and placed the plates between the knives, forks, and spoons at each place. I scooped out rice into the bowls and set them on the plates. By the time we were done it was 6:50. So to kill the time, I went to the bathroom and did my hair and makeup. Finally, 7:15 came. DiNg! I ran to get the door. Hey guys! I greeted. Hey! I opened the door wider and let them in. Lance, Justin, Joey, and then Chris. I shut the door after them. What smells so good? asked Justin asked, sniffing the air. What did I invite you guys here for? I countered. Dinner, they responded simultaneously. We made the food, JC announced, coming up behind me. You help cook it? Chris asked uncertainly. He turned to me and asked, You did check for leftover bacteria and toxic waste, right? I laughed and said, No need. JC did very well actually. JC smiled smugly at the expense of his friend. Ok then. Lets get to the food! declared Joey. Joey, stop bein so selfish, scolded Justin. No, hes right. Lets get to dinner. I led them to the table, elaborately set and decorated. I could hear mentions of wow and cool. I smiled to myself, seating myself next to JC and Justin. Man JJ, you went through a lot. This food looks delicious! Justin complimented, reaching for a piece of chicken. It tastes good too! said the muffled voice of Joey. We groaned. I was half disgusted and half sick and tired of him pigging out. JJ, how in the world did you make this food? Its really good. Ever heard of secret recipes? I agree with Justin. How did you learn how to make this stuff? asked Lance. My mom. She came from Vietnam and taught me. Cool. By the time I had eaten my fill, the guys were still going strong. How do they eat this much? As if to answer my question, JC said, Jessie, I could eat this stuff forever! ThanksI think. About 10 minutes later, Lance sat back in his chair and groaned. Man, I am stuffed to the max. I cant eat another bite! Could you handle a small drink? I asked him. I guess. How bout a Coke? Sure. Be right back, I said to no one in particular as I went to get Lances drink. When I came back, I saw that Chris had surrendered to his stomach. Ugh. I cant believe I ate that much. Then why did you? I asked, handing Lance his glass. I was listening to my mouth, not my stomach. I laughed. Do you want a drink? Dr. Pepper then please. Dont have it. Pepsi then. Ok. I went to get Chriss Pepsi. I came back with a Pepsi and Coke. Coke for me, Pepsi for Chris. This time JC had given up. I handed the Pepsi to Chris. Thanks. Welcome. Had enough? I asked JC, patting his stomach softly. Please dont do that. You might regret it. Gotcha. I pulled my hand away. Now could you be a sweetheart and get me a root beer? Sure C. I kissed him lightly and went to retrieve his drink. I came back and handed JC his drink. Thanks sweetie. Pleasure. I turned to Justin. What about you Justy? I think I can fit a drink of Coke in here. You mean that endless pit of yours? joked Chris. We snickered. You got lucky this time lil man. Seize the moment. I shook my head and went to get the drink. I handed Justin the drink. Thanks much. Welcome. I looked at Joey. He looked like he was gonna explode. I glanced at the remains of the food. There were only a couple scoops of fried rice, several pieces of chicken, and couple egg rolls. Man. I feel sorry for the cook for these guys. You guys can really eat, I commented as I sat down. No. Its just you can really cook, JC replied. Thanks. Still up for that movie? I said biting into an egg roll. They all groaned at the sight. Sorry, I said as I finished it off. So about the movie I continued. The guys were talking amongst themselves and I grew very suspicious, very quickly. They realized I was looking, they stopped talking. Yeah. What movie? JC asked, taking my attention away from the plotting 4. The Cell, I replied without hesitation. Ive heard about that movie. Sounds like a freaky plot to me, Justin confided. It must be very freaky then, Lance joked. He said that about Aladdin when that one guy turns into a snake. I snickered. Oh Justy, I thought you were fearless. Whats wrong with being scared of snakes? he asked defensively. Nothing. Im quite scared of snakes myself. It was time when this huge cobra was comin at me- I started. Stop! Justin cried, covering his ears. Well, ANYWAY, I said trying to get Justin to uncover his ears, wanna go to the movie now? Sure. Cmon. JC jumped up and grabbed my hand. I pried my hand from his tight grasp and said, Ok. Hang on a sec and Ill go change- No! I turned abruptly, surprised at JCs out burst. I-I mean, the movie starts soon and we should get going, he recovered. What is going on? but instead I said, Ok. If you say so. Great, he said, sounding relieved. Well do the dishes for you, added Justin. Thanks. Why are they being so nice? I thought. Theyve gotta be planning something. JC too. Thats the only reason they have for trying to rush me out of my own house. But what could it be? I heard a quick goodbye from the guys and the door slammed. |
