Why Kibaki should resign. Now!

COLLOSAL FAILURE OF ADMINISTRATION:

This article focuses on facts and analyses the current administration. Fact:-Most of Kenyas’ revenue is used to service billions of foreign debt. Domestic debt had hit historic highs.

Fact:- Donors have lost confidence in his administration Former British envoy Clay described Kibaki's office as the heart of corruption in Kenya. Why does this matter? Kenya depends heavily on foreign aid and its credibility in the eyes of donors matter. Right now major donors are either withdrawing or considering cancelling aid.

Fact:- The worlds largest economies have decided not to forgive Kenya’s skyrocketing debt.

Fact:- Kibaki's aloof and complacent character hasn't helped much. Continued conflicts among his ministers sure hurts the outlook of his administration.

Fact:- Our domestic policy is hurting our local produce. Agriculture is the stronghold of the economy. Currently the government is not very keen on revising policies to protect our own farmers.

Fact: The current land policy is outdated and insensitive to Kenyans. Some Kenyans have been turned into refugees in their own country. Wrongful evictions have hurt thousand of law abiding citizens.

Fact:- Security is threatening tourism( our big foreign exchange earner). Our counter terrorism measures are surely not satisfying the west. US and UK flight warnings serves as evidence of this failure. We lose millions of shillings during these times.

Fact:- The constitutional review process is not going. Constitutional review has been turned into politic and therefore playing with Kenyans future.

Fact:- Social issues-Unemployment continues to increase. Heathcare system needs an overhaul. Aids epidemic is worsening.

NARC is concerned of re-election more than healing the economy. NARC is not fighting for us! So who are they fighting for?

Most campaign pledges were trashed as soon as Kibaki was sworn in. Kenyans gave him a mandate. To fight for their rights and stand for them. Evidently, that hasn’t happened yet.

We need a change! Most Kenyans do not have confidence in the way this administration is handling the economy, foreign policy, social issues, the constitutional process and what did I forget? Nothing!

To Kenyans, next election is a chance to exercise our constitutional right. TO VOTE OUT THIS GOVERNMENT! This is the final solution. To read more please, log on to www.geocities.com/chumbaus
